In the Berkeley Forest Health Lab research is broadly focused on forest-insect dynamics across temporal and spatial scales. We are interested in the interactions between insect disturbances, climate and vegetation management; insect outbreaks and ecosystem recovery; and management strategies that maintain and/or enhance resilience.

We use interdisciplinary approaches to answer questions on forest disturbances, resilience and recovery with Dendrocecology, Quantitative Wood Anatomy, Field-based Inventories, and Near-Remote Sensing.
